Association "Knappschaft"

The association "Knappschaft Jochberg" was founde through 15 mines-oriented idealists. On 23 th of july 1990 the raiser-meeting happend. Today the association is called "Knappschaft Jochberg" and has 130 members.

The association looks for tradition and ancient customs:

  • regulary disengagements with traditional costume - like catolic festivals, jubilee celebrations, prosessions, Barbara-Festival (patron of the mine people)
  • z.B. bei Kirchenfeiertagen, Jubiläumsfesten, Umzügen, Barbarafeiern (Schutzpatron der Bergleute) uvw.
  • Exkursionen zu aktiven oder stillgelegten Bergwerken
  • Ausflüge
  • Stollenbesichtungen des Erbstollens Kupferplatte
  • jährliche Barbarafeier am 4. Dezember zu Ehren der "Heiligen Barbara"
